Silva Bay View is situated a 5 minute walk from the Gulf Island Sea Plane terminal at Silva Bay Marina. Gabriola Bed and Breakfast is ideally situated for travellers to Gabriola from Vancouver International Airport(YVR) who are using the float plane to arrive. By car it's a 15 minute drive on North Road from the Nanaimo – Gabriola Island Ferry Terminal.

Gabriola Island Accommodation can be hard to find in the high season
Gabriola is an Island of 4,500 residents that can swell to 8,000 in the summer. Don't be disappointed when looking for Gabriola Island accommodation by waiting too long to book. Silva Bay View will take a deposit to reserve your dates. Even when they are months away. To confirm you reservation we require full payment in advance.
If booking through an online site such as Airbnb or Booking.com is your preference you can do that also. We try to keep our website price about the same before you pay the Airbnb commission.

Recently after being frustrated with Google Maps not properly listing Gabriola Bed and Breakfast we adjusted the name to be Silva Bay View BnBor Silva Bay View Bed and Breakfast. Nothing has changed other wise. Same great view from the kingside bed. A large room with beautiful Vancouver Island Fir hardwood floors. Many amenities including wifi, smart TV , Breakfast, fridge, dry bike storage and fold out twin couch. Quality linens, your own private 4 pc bath and private entrance with a coded lock. If you choose, you do not need to meet your hosts. A continental breakfast of baked goods, quiche, fruit, granola, instant porridge, yogurt, coffee/tea is placed in the room and fridge
This time of year(fall) is the most beautiful and pleasant time to be on Gabriola. Sunny days, gorgeous sunrises, leaves turning colour and very few tourists.

What is Silva Bay View BnB like?
Bright, spacious private room that’s perfect for a getaway weekend. Lovely king bed looks out on Silva Bay. A fold out couch allows you to bring your child. (Children under 12 are free). We supply a continental breakfast. Items include granola, yogurt, baking, fruit and quiche. The house is located in a heritage orchard of apples, plums, pears and various fruit bushes.
Guest access
Guests have their own private room and 4 pc bath. The room is spacious with a sitting area and breakfast nook. The private entrance has a small deck with a bay view. The room is separate from the main house.
During your stay
There is no need to interact with the hosts. If you choose all communication can be done by text. If you enjoy chatting and learning about the island and it amenities your host Dave is available for interaction.

My wife had a basic level of ASL for hearing impaired guests needing this.
Gabriola accommodation is often in short supply. To alleviate this situation and to provide a retirement sideline we opened a bed and breakfast. Silva Bay View BnB is situated in completely private section of our home. It features a king bed, private 4 pc bath, wifi, TV, continental breakfast and a great view of Silva Bay. Right from bed you can watch the ocean tides, sunrises or eagles and ravens playing on the wind as storms blow in.

After spending 15 years on Gabriola Island my wife and I have started calling this place Fantasy Island. Fantasy Island Bed and Breakfast could have been the name for our B & B but unfortunately that would confuse it with Fantasy Island the 1978 TV show. So Gabriola Bed and Breakfast took the prize.
Situated a short twenty minute ferry ride from Nanaimo, or a twenty minute plane ride from Vancouver it is easy to get here. Yet, that short trip over separates you from the hustle and bustle. A quiet place of rural beauty and forrest awaits. Great beaches with oceanside walks. Numerous hiking and walking trails. Many parks to explore.

Today I'll talk about Drumbeg Provincial Park. One of three provincial parks on Gabriola Island, Drumbeg is a favourite spot for diving, hiking, nature viewing and picnicking. Overlooking scenic Gabriola Passage on the east end of the Island, Drumbeg offers excellent views of the Strait of Georgia and the Coast Mountains on the Mainland. The park contains a kilometre long sand and pebble beach with striking sandstone and conglomerate rock formations, which can be seen at low tide.
Natural Beauty
Did you know Drumbeg Park protects endangered Garry oak ecosystems. And undeveloped Douglas fir forest landscapes and a diverse marine zone. Species such as Bald eagles, Great Blue herons, harbour seals and American oystercatchers can be spotted here, along with a number of intertidal creatures. Underwater enthusiasts can dive from the shores of the park. Yes you can head out to Rogers reef by boat. Of course, you can still stay out of the strong currents that run through Gabriola Passage.
Having just opened our Bed and Breakfast on Silva Bay July 5th we have had our first official paying customers. After six months of preparing it was exciting to open our doors. An interesting story is behind the first official stay...
It's July 5th, 6 pm and hot. I've been landscaping and Melanie has been massaging clients. See pictures below. We decide to head down to the Fire Truck Grill, a food truck beside the water at Silva Bay. We arrive and find our friends who run another bed and breakfast having dinner. Because we're finally ready to take reservations they mention their pretty full up. But would we want customers sent out way. Yes of course, send away!
So we're home back when the phone starts ringing at 9pm. Kinda odd on small Gulf Island to have someone call you at that time of night. But we answer and it's two lovely folks who have been directed our way by our friends. Their bed and breakfast location showed up on Google Maps. (Both our B and B's are a 5 minute walk from the Silva Bay Marina). Ours didn't because we are so new. They came in by boat and are stuck in Silva Bay for the night. Do we have a bed? Yes we do and it's a king size bed . They walk over with their night bags. Love our BnB and stay an extra night. And so it began.
